Introducing: Fragrance of the Month!

What makes The Candle Lab different than your average candle company?  Our candles, of course!  But we're not talking about just any old candle.  Our candles are hand-poured in store using natural soy wax, pure fragrance oils, and cotton paper wicks.  They are long-lasting, true-to-scent, and clean burning.  And while those qualities make them pretty special, there's still something else that makes them really stand out: custom scent!   

We believe that when you pour your own custom-scented candle, it’s even better than any candle you can purchase off our shelves.  Yes, we have over 140 carefully curated fragrances in our collection, all of which are great on their own. But where the magic really happens is when you blend 2-3 of those fragrances together in a way that speaks to your unique nose!

To help illustrate this concept, we’re launching a fun new display in our stores called Fragrance of the Month.  Each month we’ll be featuring a fragrance from our collection along with three custom-scent blends that incorporate that fragrance. These blends are developed by our in-store team of Scent Stylists, and each tells a personal story. Just as eating a particular dish can remind you of your childhood dinner table, so can smelling a particular scent!  

Take our March Fragrance of the Month, Earl Grey Tea, for example.  Many of our Scent Stylists love to blend Earl Grey Tea with Lavender and Vanilla (or Lavender Fields and Sugar Cookie, etc.), as it reminds them of their favorite indulgence from across the pond, a London Fog.  We won’t spoil the rest of the featured blends - you’ll have to visit your local store to smell the rest and get inspired yourself! Then create your own custom-scented candle (or other product) capturing your favorite scented memories.

Valentine's Day at The Candle Lab

• One pour-your-own custom-scented soy candle per person, in your choice of premium 8 oz jar (~10 options available to match your unique style)
• A glass of sparkling wine for each person to enjoy while pouring.
• Premium chocolate to indulge your sweet tooth.
• A commemorative polaroid photo capturing your magical evening.
• A romantic ambiance created by unscented candlelight
• Free delivery to your romantic local dinner spot of choice within walking distance.  The candles take about 90 minutes to cool before they are ready to take home, and once they are ready we will hand-deliver them just as your meal is ending.  Now that’s love!

PLEASE NOTE:

1.  We do not take reservations for these evenings.  Simply stop in anytime between 4-8 PM.
2.  Candles poured by 7:30 PM will be delivered to the restaurant that evening (or available for pick up).  Because the candles take 90 minutes to set, candles poured after 7:30 PM can be picked up in-store another day (no rush!).  
3.  Plan on ~30-45 minutes from the time you walk in the door to the time you are leaving for your dinner (could be more or less depending on how busy the store is).

It's not easy to get your hands on a high-quality candle for a low-quality price.  Those of you who have been longtime supporters of us (thank you!) know that we very rarely discount our candles.  So when we do, attention must be paid!  

On Saturday, February 9, we are participating in the 614 Reduction Sale at Edgework Creative along with some of our favorite neighbors and partners.  This is your chance to purchase your favorite candles at prices you won't see again for a very long time!  Some of these candles are in great condition with just a few minor visual flaws that prevent us from selling them at full price.  Others are "forgotten" candles - those that were custom-blended by customers a long time ago but haven't found their way home (yet!).  You'll find unique and creative custom scent blends that are just dying to fulfill their life's purpose, all at a fraction of their original price! 

You won't want to stop at just candles - the vendor lineup at the 614 Reduction Sale is full of deeply discounted merchandise from some of Columbus' most well-known and loved businesses (see full list below).  This is your chance to shop at some clothing boutiques that may generally be out of your budget, or simply snag your new favorite sweater for a price you won't believe.  But trust us, you won't be the only person with your eye on the prize!  We recommend making a $10 donation to Flying Horse Farms to gain early entry starting at 9AM.

Experiment with Scent

With over 120 fragrances, we’re willing to bet everyone will find more than a handful they love.  That’s where our Scent Stylists come in - we’ll help you narrow down your list to just a few scents that blend perfectly together.  You’ll design your label and mix your oils at our Fragrance Bar to create your unique custom scent. It's beginning to smell a lot like Christmas....especially at the Polaris mall in Columbus, Ohio!  

Visiting Santa at the mall has long been a holiday tradition.  The mall is decked out to the nines with festive flair, Christmas music is playing in every store, and lots of children are lined up waiting to ask Santa for their favorite toy.  And this year, Polaris Fashion Place went all out with their Santaville - a winter wonderland decked out with a gallery of rooms to discover color, smells, clues, and hidden gnomes! The experience is exciting with delightful surprises leading up to the moment you meet Santa Claus.

Santaville not only looks great, but it smells great, too.  Everywhere you turn, a new smell wafts in the air, inviting you to explore further.  With scents of warm baked goods, a fresh pine forest, Santa's roasted chestnuts on an open fire, and even the leather of his boots, even the most grouchy Grinch will feel the Christmas spirit.
